You explore and engage with different examples of long-form journalism and non-fiction writing.
You will apply your knowledge and understanding of creative writing to carry out a writing project. This will be in the form of a portfolio of long-form journalism and/or non-fiction writing.
You will also analyse and evaluate longer forms of journalism and a range of non-fiction writing. Alongside this, you will critically reflect on your own writing practice.
Module learning outcomes
- Apply knowledge and understanding of creative writing to examples of longform journalism and non-fiction writing.
- Critically analyse and evaluate a range of longform journalism and non-fiction texts.
- Initiate and carry out a writing project in longform journalism and/or non-fiction writing.
- Communicate information and ideas to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Critically evaluate their understanding of longform journalism and non-fiction writing and reflect on their own writing practice.
