This module will allow students in the BA Digital Media and Culture to work on a written project (dissertation) of their choosing.
The module assessment is a self-directed substantial piece of work that will enable you to devise your research questions and argument. The module is also meant to facilitate the identification of those key debates in the field of digital media theory that relate to the chosen dissertation subject. The module will stress the importance of developing an original and independent study of problems and concepts in the heterogenous field of digital media and digital culture.
Module learning outcomes
- Identify an area of interest suitable for extended research, develop a research question, and devise an argument.
- Master specialist knowledge of the research topic selected.
- Manage a focused research writing project from beginning to completion, consolidating the ability to carry out self-directed study.
- Apply research techniques in the preparation and production of a piece of independent research, communicating ideas and findings effectively, clearly and fluently.
