The University is located next to Falmer station, with trains to Brighton and the local Sussex region.
Getting to and from campus by train
Falmer railway station is connected to the University campus by a subway under the A27.
Direct trains to Falmer run from Brighton, Lewes, Seaford, Eastbourne and Hastings. Passengers travelling from London need to change trains at Brighton station for Falmer.
Season ticket for students in the Brighton and Worthing area
The Unizone season ticket gives students unlimited travel at a discount in the Brighton and Worthing area.
You must hold a valid 16-25 Railcard (available to any one aged 16 to 25, or over 25 and in full-time study) before you can buy a Unizone season ticket. All 16-25 Railcards have a photo ID with a unique number, so you don’t need a National Rail photocard.
To buy a weekly, monthly or quarterly Unizone ticket, present your valid railcard and your student ID at one of the staffed stations within the Unizone area. (You cannot buy the Unizone ticket online, at ticket machines or on the train.)
Train tickets for staff
Sussex staff can obtain a a 15% discount on Southern rail services by registering for the easit scheme. Simply register with easit using your University of Sussex e-mail address, and follow the instructions provided.
An interest-free loan is available for University staff who wish to purchase a season ticket. Follow the link Staff Travel Loan where you can download an application form, or contact Payroll on ext 3757.
