Library refurbishment
Timescale: began August 2009, completed summer 2011
Project value: £6.4 million
Project manager: Rob French
Project lead: Kitty Inglis, Librarian
This project aimed to update and improve the Library through the creation of a flexible, accessible, technology-rich study environment, offering state-of-the-art facilities in support of innovative research and scholarship, inspirational teaching and learning, and an enhanced student experience.
The Careers and Employability Centre was relocated within the Library building in order to enhance the visibility and usage of the careers service.
The project thus sought to re-invigorate the building and encourage more use by students and staff as the primary location for study, learning, research, personal development and social interaction.
