There is something special about campus life, especially at the University of Sussex. It is a key reason why many students choose to study here, and why many academics teach and research here.

This is why the University of Sussex and Mitie have teamed up to create the Sussex Estates and Facilities partnership, marking an exciting new chapter in our delivery of the University’s total facilities management (TFM) services. In our partnership we aim to improve the experience of all campus users and make the University of Sussex the shining example of TFM in the university sector. 

Here at Sussex Estates and Facilities, we manage services for all schools and departments at the University, from security and groundskeeping, to cleaning and maintenance, to energy and waste disposal. We also facilitate specialised services such as the Print Unit and the campus launderettes. Our staff work hard to provide these services, often from 4am to late at night - even 24/7.

We have also facilitated numerous construction projects, including the East Slope Student Village and the Jubilee multi-storey car park, plus the upcoming West Slope Residences Project, and continue to work non-stop on improvements to campus.

Our aim is to always work towards Best Practice by improving our services and regularly reviewing and updating all of our procedures. As a result, we have received numerous awards across our services, including BICSc, pfM, BIFM, Green Gown, Green Flag, Green Impact, and many others. 

Ultimately, it is our mission to provide excellent facilities management to the University of Sussex.
