Ros Atkins, BBC news journalist and presenter, recently visited the University of Sussex to discuss his new book, The Art of Explanation: How to Communicate with Clarity and Confidence,' on 6 February 2024 at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA).

The talk was hosted by writer, broadcaster and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Intellectual History at the University of Sussex Dr Joanne Paul.

Together, Ros and Joanne discussed the art of explanation and how to communicate stories with clarity and impact. Drawing on his years of experience as a BBC journalist, Ros provided a range of fascinating anecdotes and insights, alongside various tips for sharpening up your communication skills.

The event was well attended by University students, staff, and the general public, and was followed by a Q&A and book signing. 

On the event, Ros said, ‘I was really honoured to speak in such an incredible auditorium and at such a fantastic university. I couldn't have been more pleased with how (the event) went.’
