Norwich House Studio

 Norwich House Studio is a custom-designed space tailored for presenter-style TV production and group podcasting.

The studio is available to students enrolled in Journalism and Creative & Critical Practices degrees within the Faculty of Media, Arts, and Humanities. It can be booked through SISO (see details below).

Please note this facility is only avalible 10am till 6pm. Please be mindful this facility is located in a residential building. Please be mindful of noise when using the space. Any reports of misuse of the space my result in your access to the space being revoked. 


 

Studio Floor Access - Journalism, Creative and Critical Practice

Norwich House Group Podcast

The studio is equipped with an RGB LED-lit set and a large background monitor, along with access to a computer lab featuring two Apple Mac Minis. It provides an ideal setting for presenter-to-camera segments, interviews, and podcasts. (Note: Equipment is not provided.)

Access to the studio floor is available to students in the Journalism and Creative & Critical Practices degrees within the Faculty of Media, Arts, and Humanities and can be booked via SISO.

 

Studio Gallery/Camera Access - Journalism

Norwich House Gallery

The studio supports a range of productions, including a 3-camera setup for video production, a 4-station setup for podcasting, and access to the studio's audio mixer, vision mixer, VT control station, autocue, and more. Our broadcast gallery enables high-definition, multi-camera productions.

The space is available to staff and students enrolled in Journalism-based modules who have completed the Norwich House Induction. Access to the gallery and its associated equipment can only be booked via SISO once the induction is complete. To book an in-person induction, please contact mahtechserv@sussex.ac.uk.

To book Norwich House Studio, you must first complete the online induction on Canvas, along with any required inductions. Once completed, you can reserve the space through SISO. For more information, please contact MAHtechserv@sussex.ac.uk.

 


 

Additional items you will need to book to gain access

Studio Floor Access
To access the studio floor, you will need to pick up the following from the Equipment Stores (Silverstone Building, SB250):

  • Access Card: Available for pickup 1 hour before your booking or after 1pm on Friday if your booking is over the weekend.

Studio Gallery/Camera Access
To access the studio gallery or camera equipment, you will need to collect the following from the Equipment Stores:

  • Equipment Cupboard Key: Available for pickup 1 hour before your booking or after 1pm on Friday if your booking is over the weekend.
  • Gallery Access Key: Available for pickup 1 hour before your booking or after 1pm on Friday if your booking is over the weekend.

These items must be collected and returned during store opening hours. Please note that you will not be able to access the studio without these keys, and they are additional requirements listed on SISO.
