Welcome to our newsletter for staff to facilitate awareness and better support for their students.
Canine Cuddles
Students can sign up to sessions via this link. Please do promote it and share it with the students. If you need any graphics/ text then let me know. I’m more than happy to host all of these sessions, but I’m also very aware that I think dogs are awesome. So, if anyone would like to volunteer to attend and talk to students about their wellbeing, please drop me a message and I’ll put together a rota. Please don’t feel obliged, I’m just opening this up to further spread tail wagging joy.
Wellbeing Stalls
You can find the locations and themes of our wellbeing stalls on the Student Wellbeing Canvas site. Simply click on the "Where is the Wellbeing Stall" section at the top of the page for all the details. It would be great if you could familiarise yourself with the rota and direct students here. Every Monday, we'll be touring the campus, and every Thursday, you'll find us in the Student Centre with exciting themed activities!
Speed mates for Neuro-divergent students – Buddy Scheme X Disability Advice
The Buddy Scheme and Disability Advice are collaborating for Neuro-divergent student speed mates on the 3rd February 2025 from 12noon-1:30pm in the debating chamber in Falmer House. There will be timed rounds of 5-10 minutes for students to meet as many people as possible. Students can sign up via this link, please refer students who may benefit from it.
Grief and Loss
We have compiled some information about grief and bereavement for students. Students can now attend a monthly group support group led by the lead chaplain, James Croft. This group provides a space to share experiences or simply find support—sharing is optional.
