Atusa was pleased to gain a place on the 6-week Accelerator Programme which they successfully completed, alongside their academic work in June 2024. It was delivered by the Careers and Entrepreneurship team at the University of Sussex.
Atusa is the proud founder of AZIZ! A non-profit events-based company and community, with a good social cause centring QTIPOC+, and engaged with this programme as part of their hard work and determination to grow their social enterprise. https://linktr.ee/azizpocevents
During this time Atusa and 30 other new ventures attended specialist workshops and gained expert advice, including allocation of a summer intern to work on their venture with them.
On July 12th a Demo Day was held to celebrate the end of the Accelerator Programme and an opportunity for each venture to present a 3-minute pitch to a panel of established investors and audience. With the chance of being awarded up to £4,000 in funding.
We are proud to announce that Atusa was not only awarded the full Accelerator grant making them one of few Accelerator ventures to receive funding, but they were also awarded the People’s Choice Award for delivering the best pitch.
Less than one week later Atusa put on a spectacular sold-out event at the Brighton Dome celebrating and fundraising for Trans Pride Brighton 2024.
Huge congratulations Atusa!
