Ensemble Molière was formed by participants of the Dartington International Summer School and is based in London with performers from Japan, the UK, Germany and Australia. The ensemble have performed throughout the UK and Europe; including performances at the MAfestival fringe in Brugge and the Oudemuziek fringe in Utrecht. 2017 has seen the ensemble make their debut at the London Festival of Baroque Music as part of their Future Artists Scheme and compete as finalists in the International Young Artists Competition at the York Early Music Festival. The ensemble has also premiered their first cross art opera project Pygmalion, part funded by Arts Council England and supported by Stroud Green Festival and BREMF. Ensemble Molière has been invited to perform live on BBC3 In Tune with highlights from Pygmalion and also their spoken word and music programme, 'Medicine and Mortality'. They have also recorded their first EP, a collection of French baroque dance movements entitled, 'Dance Sweets', which will be available to buy in late 2017.
Alice Earll violin
Alice Earll is a violinist based in London specialising in early music. She studied under Pavlo Beznosiuk at the RAM, graduating with distinction. Over the next few months Alice will be touring Europe with the European Baroque Academy and then the Academy of Ancient Music. She plays on a Thomas Kennedy baroque violin on loan from the Harrison Frank Foundation.
Kate Conway viola da gamba
Kate Conway studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Jonathan Manson, graduating with distinction, and has recently been selected for the 2017 Handel House Talent Scheme. She has performed with Solomon’s Knot, La Serenissima and the Feinstein Ensemble, and is a member of Ceruleo, who are 2016-17 Ensemble Fellows at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Satoko Doi-Luck harpsichord
Satoko studied composition in Tokyo, and then harpsichord with James Johnstone in London. She enjoys performing in various formats from solo recitals and chamber music, to playing continuo in orchestras and operas. She has performed with Birmingham Opera Company, English Chamber Orchestra, Shakespeare’s Globe and La Serenissima. Satoko is a founder member of chamber music groups Ceruleo and Ensemble Molière. www.satokodoi-luck.com
