‘Poetry South East’ was born as an anthology of contemporary poetry from the region in 1976 and appeared every year until 1983.The second edition in 1977 was edited by Laurence Lerner, who had a long association with the University as Professor of English. The Lewes-based Frogmore Press revived the series in 2000, and ‘Poetry South East 2010’ was published ten years later and launched at the Meeting House in 2011 (the launch postponed following a heavy fall of snow). ‘Poetry South East 2020’ includes contributions from 52 poets across the region including work by the many poets resident in Brighton and Lewes.
Readers will include poets whose work appears in the Frogmore Press ‘Poetry South East 2020’ anthology.
