Title: A Neurorobotic Approach to Modelling Mammalian Navigation
Abstract:
Spiking neural networks (SNNs) are a close cousin of artificial neural networks (ANNs) that are ideal for translating ideas from neuroscience across to artificial systems. This talk covers an overview of SNNs, their use in modelling the Head Direction and Grid Cell systems in the mammalian brain, and using a neurorobotics approach to turn these models into a bio-inspired navigation system.
