Biography

Dr Patrizia Casadei is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Geography and Environment of the London School of Economics (LSE), where she is involved in the EU-funded project “Economic, Social and Spatial Inequalities in Europe in the Era of Global Mega-trends (ESSPIN)”. Prior to joining LSE, she was Research Fellow in Innovation and the Creative Industries at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex Business School. Her research focuses on local economic development, cultural and creative industries and the interplay between creativity, economy and cities. Her recent research includes work on the reconfiguration of global value chains, with a specific emphasis on backshoring, Brexit, and the twin transition. She holds a PhD in Development Economics and Local Systems from the University of Trento, Italy. Her work has been published in several leading journals in the field including Regional Studies, Environment and Planning A, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research and European Urban and Regional Studies.
