Research

My research interests lie in the field  of International Politics and History. I specialise in recent US foreign policy and have published two books on America’s role in international affairs. I have also worked for almost ten years on   secondment at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, as a senior analyst. My current research arises from a Leverhulme Foundation Major Fellowship on the US relations with Emerging Powers.  I also have research interests in British foreign policy and in domestic American Politics and have published a book on US race relations.
