
Mr Lokendra Karki
Biography
Lokendra Karki is a PhD researcher at SPRU. His research focuses on climate risks and adaptation in agriculture and explores the interactions between actors at multiple levels in the climate change policy process and its subsequent impacts on the small farmers at the micro level. His research interest lies in the climate change adaptation and development, changes in farmers’ behaviour, sustainable food system, livelihood dynamics and agrarian transformation. He obtained MSc. in International Organic Agriculture from the University of Kassel, Germany, and MA in Sociology from the Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has more than ten years of work experience in developing, leading and implementing projects for small farmers in the field of appropriate agricultural technology diffusion and adaptation to climate change in Nepal. He had also worked for different research projects at Sussex, including TRANSrisk, a Horizon 2020 project, and Women Entrepreneurship Development, a DFID and CEPR research initiative.
