Research

Hitchcock works on the Digital Humanities and the history of poverty and social policy and the digital humanities.  His current research focusses on 3D modelling of historic court rooms; the linguistic analysis of trial transcripts; patterns of plebeian migration in late eighteenth and early nineteenth century Britain; the financial workings of the Old Poor Law; and the oral history of the BBC.
