Research
Paul trained as an anthropologist and has maintained a career long interest in the problem of identity in school, both the professional formation of teacher identity and on school as the place where pupils have to make their own identities. Paul's recent and current writing has been looking at the social construction of teaching and learning in the professions and within the affective areas of the curriculum, especially religious education; spiritual, moral social and cultural education and education for citizenship.
