Dr Diane Brewster


Biography

I started my teaching career in the late 70's teaching RE at secondary level, I then taught (cross curriculum) for 4yrs in a unit for children not currently in school and did 8 yrs Adult ed teaching for Birkbeck College (London). I then spent 6yrs working in Business, during which I did a "career change" BSc with the OU. This was followed by an MSc in Human Centred Computer Systems here at Sussex. My DPhil, also here at Sussex, looked at the issues of disruption and failure in technology enhanced learning in the light of Diana Laurillard's Conversational Framework.

 

Role

I am now part of the Chaplaincy Team as one of the Associate Chaplains (Quaker).

I spent 4 yrs (2006 - 10) as part of the InQbate Team at Sussex, one of the 74 Centres of Excellence in Teaching and Learning, established in 2005. Dissemination of the outputs from InQbate will be ongoing.
