Gary Strain, Astronomy MSc
I’ll be turning 60 in 2020 and after retiring a few years ago I decided to return to my Alma-mater to do an MSc in Astronomy.
I’d studied at Sussex before - Physics in 1978-1981 and an MPhil 1981-1983, so it was also intriguing to see how it had all changed. Key differences?
Students are more industrious, drink less (a lot less) and much more focused on careers/jobs. Campus is so much busier with so many more students than 40 years ago. I can’t help but feel we were a very lucky generation enjoying this beautiful campus, and all for free!
