Special Collections holds several collections relating to the University of Sussex itself:
University of Sussex Collection
Archives
of the University of Sussex, including minutes of committees and units,
photographs, publications etc. (Ask staff for details.)
Centre for Continuing Education
Papers relating to the organization and administration of public lectures
organised by the CCE and delivered at the University, 1960s to 1980s.
Daiches Papers
Papers relating to the association
between the University of Sussex and David Daiches, Professor of English,
1961-77.
Papers deal with the foundation and early history of the University.
Correspondence, memoranda, reports, plans, etc. of the Staff Architect, T.C.Green, on the planning, construction and maintenance of the University of Sussex campus. The papers cover the period 1959-1979.
Swanborough Manor Papers
Printed papers, notes,
noteboooks, pamphlets, lists, and maps related to the history of Swanborough
Manor, near Lewes,
Sussex.
University of Sussex Foundation Papers
Papers,
including minute-books and parliamentary papers, 1905-62 (especially
1911-12) on early attempts to found a university
college at Brighton.
