Research

My research interests lie in the area of international theory, particularly critical theory and ideology critique. One focus of my work has been the critical analysis of liberal foreign policies and liberal internationalism. Methodologically, I systematically explore the use of classical theory in and for international relations. And at the epistemological level I am particularly interested in the relationship between academic knowledge and political practice.

I am interested in supervising research projects in the following areas:

• liberalism, liberal internationalism, liberal foreign policies
• critical theory
• classical theory, international political theory
• theory and practice, academia and politics, history of IR
