Sightseers on the cliff top at Beachy Head photographed in about 1903.

The same stretch of cliff in July 2002. Although the cliff edge has retreated over the past century, morphological changes appear slight.
View of the lighthouse from the cliff top. Probably photographed before the First World War. The Devil's Chimney is the pinnacle below the corner of the cliff.
By the summer of 2002 many changes are visible. The Devils Chimney has fallen into the sea, and so have parts of the cliff seen in the foreground in the earlier picture.
