Future of Work

Teaching

At the University of Sussex we offer two postgraduate courses, one at Masters and one at PhD level linked to the themes addressed by the Future of Work Research Hub. Many of our members are involved in teaching the Masters course and offer PhD supervision.

MSc Human Resource Management

This is a new and fascinating course for those interested in the field of human resource management. The course is open to applicants from all backgrounds and encourages those with a first degree from a wide range of social sciences. It offers specialised knowledge of human resource strategies, policies and practices, placing them in their wider economic and social context. It provides students with an in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of the world of work. It also equips them with critical thinking skills that contemporary HR managers need to deal effectively and responsibly with the challenges of an increasingly uncertain environment.

MPhil/PhD Management

The Department of Business and Management offers a newly revamped PhD in Management. We are keen on hearing from outstanding students who would be interested in pursuing a PhD in the areas related to the Future of Work. More specifically, we encourage applications that would fall under one or more of our research themes: Identity, Meaning and Engagement at Work; Technology, Work and Organization; Skills, Knowledge and Careers; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; Globalization, Mobility and Labour Market Institutions.
