Using a Raspberry Pi Pico, breadboard, and LEDs, you’ll build your very own basic lightsaber—though we can’t promise it’ll cut through doors or deflect blaster fire. This session is designed for both computer science and engineering students, offering a fun and practical introduction to working with hardware components and writing code to control them. Absolutely no prior experience is necessary, this workshop is designed to accommodate beginners and those new to electronics and programming.

12pm-2pm – Chichester 1 Future Technologies Lab

Learn the ways of electronics and programming in this hands-on workshop hosted by HackSussex. Using a Raspberry Pi Pico, breadboard, and LEDs, you’ll build your very own basic lightsaber—though we can’t promise it’ll cut through doors or deflect blaster fire. This session is designed for both computer science and engineering students, offering a fun and practical introduction to working with hardware components and writing code to control them. Absolutely no prior experience is necessary, this workshop is designed to accommodate beginners and those new to electronics and programming.
