The Centre for Teaching and Learning Research (CTLR) is engaged with research on all aspects of learning and teaching in a wide range of educational contexts, official and informal, from 3-19 years. It places a praticular enphasis on schooling, transitions, equity and inclusion.
The Centre has exceptional expertise in teachers' professional learning, collaborative practitioner enquiry and in investigating the relationship between theory, practice and policy in primary, secondary and further education contexts.

1. See the recording of CIRCLETS' last seminar of the current academic year presented by Dr Sara Bragg, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Brighton on Monday 10th June on our Activities page. Sara talked very illuminatingly on 'Sexualisation' as global cause and participatory sport.
2. 18th Annual Consortium Conference: Values and Vitues of Initial Teacher Education. Friday 21st June, 9am - 1.30pm, Fulton Building, University of Sussex. Keynote speakers include Dr Sandra Cooke, Dr Demelza Jones and Professor Hywell Thomas from the Jubilee Centre for Character and Values, University of Birmingham.
3. Teacher Research Conference. Saturday 22nd June, 10am - 1.30pm, 2nd Floor, Bramber House, University of Sussex. Keynote speakers include Professor Brian Hudson, Head of the School of Education and Social Work and Professor Colleen McLaughlin, Head of the Department of Education - both from the University of Sussex.
This is an annual conference for teachers and education practitioners. Speakers include MA students, practising teachers and education practitioners who are - or have been - conducting research on practice in different contexts.
