Vedanta’s land acquisition process near Saranda Forest  is ongoing. There was a public hearing on 7th September 2018 despite the Adivasis sending several protest letters to the Circle Officer and the Deputy Commissioner. The villagers have strongly protested against the public hearing. However, the Government of Jharkhand has been trying to capture their land forcefully.
