Professor Carol Alexander (Accounting and Finance) has been named 2024 European Female Quant of the Year by Rebellion Research.The award from the New York-based think tank and AI investment firm, celebrates her outstanding work in the field of quantitative finance, with a special focus on cryptocurrencies.  

Leading our Quantitative FinTech research group, Professor Alexander has earned international recognition for her research. She has provided valuable insights into how bitcoin prices are formed and how the market behaves. Her predictions, such as bitcoin reaching $50,000 in 2023 and possibly going over $100,000 if Donald Trump is re-elected, showcase her expertise and foresight. 

Professor Alexander’s work goes beyond just understanding markets — she is also dedicated to making the financial world safer and fairer for investors. Through her research, she advocates for better rules and protections in the fast-changing financial landscape.
