The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Secretariat has chosen the University of Sussex Business School as one of its 2023 PRME Champions.
Selected from a diverse and strong pool of applicants, the Business School is one of 47 PRME member institutions from around the globe, each with a track record of impactful contributions in thought and action leadership, to be invited onto the 2023 PRME Champions Programme.
The Programme provides faculty members, students and industry leaders with a space for developing and sharing educational methods for ambitious new ideas, forming the next generation of sustainability-driven business schools and management-related higher education institutions.
Representing the Business School are three ‘PRME Champion Institution Co-Leads’ – Dr Alejandro Luna, Lecturer in Sustainability, Innovation and Energy Policy, Dr Katerina Psarikidou, Lecturer in Sustainable Development and Dr Madina Tash, Lecturer in Accounting and Finance.
The main focus for this years’ PRME Champions will be on action leadership to inspire our global community, specifically through the Inspirational Guide on SDG Integration on Research, Curriculum, and Partnerships.
A unique feature for 2023 is engagement in The Impactful Five (i5) Project. This is a knowledge-sharing and peer-learning project with the aim of future-proofing higher education institutions with novel pedagogies and practices that inspire creativity and authenticity, and underpin sustainable development across all disciplines of business education.
The PRME Champions will participate in a series of workshops throughout the year to source, develop, and implement innovative methods of teaching, inspired by the Impactful Five Characteristics outlined in partnership with The LEGO Foundation.
These refer to the five characteristics of playful learning: joyful, socially interactive, actively engaging, meaningful, and iterative, and the development of the five skills: cognitive, emotional, creative, social, and physical.
Previous collaborations attributed to the PRME Champions include the Climate Literacy Training for Business Schools, the Blueprint for SDG Integration, the SDG Library, among others.
