We’re hiring Sustainability Interns!

Are you passionate about sustainability, and currently a second, third, or final year undergraduate at Sussex?
Here’s your chance to make a real change through a six to eight week summer internship!
The University wide Sustainability Team is looking to recruit two Sustainability Interns to support us to deliver the commitments set out in our Strategy.
The University is committed to being one of the most sustainable universities in the world. Our Sustainable Sussex Strategy sets out our road map for achieving this goal and we want you to be a part of making this happen.
The new Sustainability Interns will work closely with the team to meet the aims of the strategy, focusing on priority workstreams, such as:
- Business Travel
- Waste & Recycling
- Enhancing Biodiversity across the campus
- Excellent Carbon Accounting.
In the role of a Sustainability Intern, you will:
- Provide a range of administrative and project support functions to help the team in delivering the Sustainability Strategy.
- Support gathering of data for benchmarking exercises, such as the Sustainability Annual Report, THE Impact Rankings, and People and Planet University League.
- Assist with analysing and improving the existing sustainability performance metrics of the University.
- Help increase awareness of sustainability and the Strategy by supporting the development and delivery of campaigns, events and communications to staff and students.
- Research good practice in terms of improving the sustainability of the University, seeing what we can learn from other institutions and sectors.
