Coming Soon: Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) Leasing Scheme
By: Martha Knott
Last updated: Thursday, 9 February 2023
As announced by the Vice-Chancellor at her open forum on Tuesday 07 February, the University of Sussex Executive Group (UEG) has approved the creation of an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) leasing scheme for staff at the University.
The Scheme will operate much like the existing cycle to work scheme and will provide an opportunity for staff who qualify for the benefit to lease an electric vehicle while making tax and National Insurance savings from their gross pay.
We have an apirational target date of introducing the Scheme by Summer 2023. Once in place the Scheme will form just one of a range of staff opportunities to travel more sustainably as we collectively work towards our target of being Net Zero by 2035 as part of our vision of being one of the most sustainable universities in the world.
Stay tuned for further information and updates on the creation of the scheme, including a list of frequently asked questions, in due course. You can also read more about what the University is doing to reduce our travel emissions in our active and sustainable commuting policy.
