Children's Parties
With consistently great feedback and excellent facilities including two sports halls and a dance studio, we offer a smooth and professional service at reasonable prices to make your child's party a memorable occasion. We also have an activities room, where you can prepare and eat your food.
Party bookings are available throughout the year, with spaces at weekends (subject to availability) however we do not run parties throughout the summer period.

The cost will be £70 for the party and this includes:
- One hour in the hall
- Use of the activity room for food for the duration of the hall booking and 30 minutes afterwards
- Equipment for the activities you would like in the hall
- Equipment set up for you by a member of staff
Activity options include:
football, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee, basketball, netball, Unihoc, badminton, quick cricket, rounders, short tennis, table tennis and bench ball.

- Is there a discount for Sussex staff and students or Sussexsport members?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount for University of Sussex staff and students booking a birthday party for your child.
If you have Sussexsport alumni or public membership, you are also entitled to a 10% discount when booking a party for your child.
- What are the age ranges for parties?

All sports parties have a minimum age of six years old for all attendees.
- Is there a limit on how many children can attend a party?

Yes, a maximum of 30 children are permitted at a party.
- What shoes can be worn in the buildings?

Playing shoes and trainers are fine, but please note that only non-marking clean indoor shoes can be worn in the indoor activity areas.
- What is provided at the facilities?

In addition to our play areas, which include two sports halls and a dance studio, we also have an activities room that you can decorate with balloons; table cloths; banners etc. and use to prepare and consume food and drinks. We will arrange the room with tables and chairs to accommodate your party size.
Please note that plates and cutlery are not provided, so you will need to bring these with you on the day.
Birthday decorations can go in the activities room, but are not permitted in our sports halls because of the turnaround time between events.
A water fountain is available at the Sport Centre next to the main hall.
Smoking is not permitted in any of our facilities and alcohol cannot be brought into the Sport Centre.
- Where are you based?

Facilities are at the University of Sussex campus in Falmer, a short journey from Brighton city centre. Information about getting to the University and a map of campus can be found on the University's webpage.
You can use the website Disabledgo to find out how to access our buildings if, for instance, you are using a wheelchair or walking aid. Access information for the Sport Centre and Falmer Sports Complex is available from their site, but please contact us with any queries you may have.
- Is parking available?

Yes, the Sport Centre has its own car park and this is usually free at weekends. A charge applies during weekdays. Please check the latest information about car parking charges on campus and parking locations via our Estates department.
