Role

Researcher at Sussex Addiction Research & Intervention Centre (SARIC) and at the Human PsychoPharmacology Unit (Sussex Neuroscience and School of Psychology)

My Ph.D program, under the supervision of Prof. Aldo Badiani  focused on the use of neuropsychological assessments and Neuroimaging technique (fMRI) to investigate drug addiction and in particular the role of environmental factors in modulating the subjective effects of psychostimulants versus opiates in drug addicts. During my doctorate, in addition to the main work for my dissertation, I have also developed an interest in the effects of addictive drugs, such as alcohol and psychostimulants, on behavioural-control and the sense of agency.

At the moment my main research aims to understand the difference between opiates and pscyhostimulants addiction throught a combination of neuropsychological, psychophysiological, beahvioural and neuroimaging methods.

We are also interested in comorbidity of mental health and substance use disorders in young adults.
