Sussex has achieved its highest position for scientific research excellence for four years in the latest global university rankings to be published.
The University has risen 27 places to its highest global position in the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities since 2016.
The NTU Ranking places Sussex 27th among UK universities – a rise of two places compared to the 2019 rankings.
In total, the University is ranked in 11 academic subjects this year, with eight subjects rising up the rankings compared to last year.
Space Science (77), Economics and Business (78) and Social Sciences (74) are all ranked within the global top 100 for their subject, while Psychology lies just outside (121).
The rankings are released by the National Taiwan University and are based on the quantitative performance of scientific papers, with universities measured in three categories: research productivity, research impact and research excellence.
