Biography

M.Phil. (Sussex) 1984 Population Regulation In The Pied Flycatcher Ficedula Hypoleuca Pallas.

D.Phil. (Sussex) 1995. Hatching Asynchrony In A Population Of Blue Tits Parus Caeruleus Prazak. 

Teaching and research technician/tutor from 1976 to 2015.  Subjects include research on the control of shistosomosis using the tropical aquatic snail hosts.  Downland turf biodiversity, bird population biology, freshwater biodiversity, plant physilogy, drosophila genotype management.

Tutor with Centre for Continuing Eucation from 1995 to 2011 teaching Ornithology & Ecology.

Tutor for Biochemistry from 2006 to 2010.

Technical services co-ordinator with Biology and Environmental Sciences in the School of Life Sciences from 2003 to 2015.

South Downs Forum - University of Sussex Representative 2000 - 2005.

Role

I am now a semi-retired Associate. Occasionally tutoring students in ornithology, conservation and ecology, and demonstrating techniques to students.  Occasional lecturing.  I am currently engaged in scientific writing and a bit of ecological research.
