The panel, chaired by Prof Jim Al Khalili, discussed What is the future of Quantum?
The two day conference on the future of quantum-based computing, networks and sensing systems formed part of the Royal Society's industry-focused Transforming our Future series, and contributed to the year-long celebrations of quantum science and its applications - in celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology.
Industry leaders, top scientists and key public sector stakeholders highlighted advances and prospects in quantum innovation and considered the scientific and technical challenges facing the field.
Listen to a recording of the panel (from 5:41:04) to hear his thoughts, where he also explained the merit of the Microsoft result.
More recently, Prof Hensinger was thrilled to welcome to Sussex the Future Digital Economy Minister, Baroness Jones. In addition to a lab tour, under discussion was the vision to turn Greater Brighton into the UKs 'Quantum Silicon Valley'.
