PGR Creative Outlets series – spring 2025

Are you a postgraduate researcher at Sussex looking for a creative break from your studies? The PGR Creative Outlets series is back for spring 2025, offering a chance to unwind, meet fellow researchers, and explore hands-on crafts.
Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush, learning Macramé knots, or trying your hand at crochet, these sessions provide a relaxed and welcoming space to get creative. No experience? No problem! All materials are provided — just bring your enthusiasm (and maybe a drink or snack) and enjoy an inspiring break from research!
All spring term 2025 sessions:
PGR Creative Outlets – Watercolour postcard making
Date and time: Wednesday 12 March, 4.30-6.30pm
Location: Jubilee 155
Description: In our first session of 2025, we are making personalised postcards painted with water colours. These are perfect for decorating your home, or posting on to loved ones to share your creative designs. Come along and see where the paint brush takes you.

PGR Creative Outlets – Macrame wall-hanging
Date and time: Wednesday 16 April, 4.30-6.30pm
Location: Jubilee 155
Description: You will learn different Macramé knots to create your own Macramé plant-pot holder or keyring. Materials, including plant pots and seeds to plant will be provided.

PGR Creative Outlets – Crochet bunting
Date and time: Thursday 15 May, 4.30-6.30pm
Location: Jubilee 155
Description: We will be learning simple crochet stitches to create colourful decorative bunting. You can use the skills you learn here on your own future projects. This is a great craft to learn for those with busy hands or anyone interested in learning how to create their own gifts, clothes and accessories.
