Progression from Foundation Year to the BSc Mathematics/MMath course
Students will qualify for entry to MMath courses if they obtain:
- 120 credits (of core and optional modules)
- at least 55% overall in the Foundation year (weighted average);
- at least 40% in each of the following core modules*:
Foundation Mathematics A (15 credits) – if taken
Foundation Mathematics B (15 credits)
Further Mathematics (30 credits)
Statistics and Decision Mathematics (15 credits)
Project (15 credits)
Students will qualify for entry to BSc Mathematics courses if they obtain:
- 120 credits (of core and optional modules)
- at least 40% overall in the Foundation Year (weighted average);
- at least 40% in each of the following core modules*:
Foundation Mathematics A (15 credits) – if taken
Foundation Mathematics B (15 credits)
Further Mathematics (30 credits)
Statistics and Decision Mathematics (15 credits)
Project (15 credits)
* Students will not qualify for entry to MMath or BSc Mathematics courses where credits for core modules have been obtained through automatic compensation (35-39%). Students will, however, be offered the opportunity to take resits for which a result of at least 40% will be required to progress.
Note for optional modules: The resit exam board may consider condoning up to 30 credits of optional modules.
