University of Sussex 26 - 28 September 2019
FCPNLO 2019 : From sub-diffusion to the wave equation: Analysis, models and computation.
A workshop on Fractional Calculus, Probability and Non-local Operators: Applications and recent Developments will take place at the University of Sussex 26-28 September 2019.
The space-time fractional diffusion equation can be extended to time fractional derivatives of order larger than 1, thus interpolating between diffusion and wave behaviour. In this workshop, we will touch upon several aspects of this theme, bringing analysts, numerical analysts, physicists and probabilists together in view of the forthcoming INI program on Fractional Differential Equations (https://www.newton.ac.uk/event/fde).
This workshop is the seventh meeting in the series of Fractional Calculus, Probability and Non-Local Operators: Applications and Recent Developments held at BCAM, Bilbao, Spain in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The workshop will be held at the Conference Centre, 3rd Floor, Bramber House, University of Sussex (see below for a map and directions).
Please ensure you complete the registration form below. Registration will include tea & coffee breaks, lunches and the workshop dinner. All travel and accommodation will be at the participants expense unless previously agreed by the workshop organisers.
The following speakers will give presentations:
- Mark Ainsworth (Brown University)
- Lehel Banjai (Heriot Watt University)
- Adrian Baule (Queen Mary University of London)
- Zdzislaw Brzezniak (University of York)
- Sergey Fedotov (University of Manchester)
- Rainer Klages (Queen Mary University of London)
- Vassili Kolokoltsov (Warwick University)
- Virginia Kiryakova (Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences)
- Krzysztof Latuszynski (Warwick University)
- Elżbieta Motyl (University of Lodz)
- Gianni Pagnini (BCAM)
We will be holding a workshop dinner on Thursday 26th September which you are warmly invited to attend. The dinner will be held at the Indian Summer Brighton. Please indicate on the registration form whether you wish to attend and also any dietary requirements.
Funding:
The workshop is supported by EU Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie project "ModCompShock". This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant agreement No 642768.
