1. To raise the profile of mood and anxiety research in Sussex (University of Sussex, BSMS and SPFT) both nationally and internationally as a means of communicating the richness of this research to funding bodies (e.g. Research Councils, NIHR) and assessment bodies (e.g. HEFCE).
2. To promote collaborations between academics from the University of Sussex, Brighton and Sussex Medical School, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and clinicians in Sussex interested in mood and anxiety research.
3. To provide clinical research group meetings on a periodic basis to share local research findings and discuss future work.
4. To promote ways of utilising research in real world interventions by providing a mechanism through which purely theoretical research can have an impact on applied areas.
