My research interests include the History of Philosophy (i.e., Modern European Philosophy from Machiavelli to Marx and Nietzsche), Modernism and the politics of Modernity, Revolutionary Theory and History (Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Walter Rodney, C.L.R James), The politics of abolitionism and neo-abolitionism (with a specific interest in the works of Joy James, Angela Davis, George L. Jackson, Bobby Seale, Huey P. Newton), recent and contemporary French Thought/ Philosophy (especially Foucault, Bourdieu, Derrida, Jean Genet, Daniel Bensaid, Rancière), critical theory (Lukacs, Walter Benjamin, Herbert Marcuse).
I have recently completed a PhD in Social and Political Thought at the University of Sussex with the thesis Spectres of Lenin: rethinking political power & revolutionary strategy in the light of a contested heritage, and am currently working on a selection of articles on neo-abolitionist perspectives in contemporary social movements.
