Biography

I am a Social Anthropologist specialising in the anthropology of development and south Asia, especially India, with an interest in transparency and accountability initiatives. I carried out my doctoral research in India focusing on the Right to Information movement and published my thesis 'Boundary Paradoxes: The Social Life of Transparency and Accountability activism in Delhi' in June 2011. I am currently teaching undergraduate courses in Social Anthropology and in Development Studies in the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex, and directing the MSc in Development Studies and Social Anthropology at Birkbeck College, University of London.
