Preparing the Package
If you wish to book a shipment (with or without dry ice) but not obtain a quote dial the above telephone number quoting our account number and then continue to follow the automatic service.
Should you require a quote, telephone the above number following the automatic service again, until you are offered the option to speak to a Customer Services agent who will give you the quote required.
The following details are pre-printed on each airway bill for you when sending a dry ice parcel:
- UN 1845
- DRY ICE OR CARBON DIOXIDE, SOLID
- CLASS 9
- NUMBER OF PACKAGES
- NET QUANTITY OF DRY ICE PER PACKAGE
But you will need to add the following details:
- Non-hazardous, non-infectious, non-toxic. Non-restricted under IATA Dangerous Goods regulations
- Detailed contents of shipment
Remember that dry ice parcels to any destination require:
- a HAZMAT Class 9 Miscellaneous label
- a Carbon Dioxide Solid label (see inside DHL file)
Always send a Commercial invoice (original + 2 copies) for biological samples e.t.c. for destinations outside the EU.
