Feras Alkabani voted ‘Editorial Member of the Year’

Dr Feras Alkabani, Lecturer in Arabic and Comparative Literature & MENACS Co-Director, has been voted the ‘Editorial Member of the Year’ for his work for the Mashriq & Mahjar: Journal of Middle East and North African Studies (North Carolina State University). Feras was invited to join the Editorial Board in February 2019 and has worked closely with the Editors.
He is organising and chairing a joint talk between the Editors of Mashriq & Mahjar and the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies (published by BRISMES of whose Council Feras is a member) at 17.00 GMT on Wednesday, 17 March 2021. The transatlantic talk, which is hosted by the Middle East and North Africa Centre at Sussex (MENACS), will provide an invaluable opportunity for doctoral researchers and early-career academics to learn more about publishing in MENA-focused prestigious peer-reviewed journals in the UK and the USA.
