The Sussex Researcher School is committed to ensuring that researcher training and development opportunities are accessible and inclusive for all. As part of this commitment, we are developing a new Framework for Researcher Training and Development, placing accessibility at its core.

To ensure this framework truly reflects the needs of our research community, we are inviting postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and early career researchers (ECRs) with accessibility needs and/or disabilities to participate in a focus group. This is a valuable opportunity to share experiences, provide feedback, and help shape future training provisions at Sussex.

Why your input matters

We recognise that accessibility in training can be a challenge, and we want to hear directly from researchers about their experiences. Your insights will play a crucial role in refining our guidelines and making training opportunities more inclusive.

Focus group details

We are organising two sessions to accommodate different preferences:

• Online Session (Zoom): Wednesday 19 March, 2.00-3.00pm
  (Zoom link will be shared with participants)

• In-Person Session: Thursday 20 March, 11.00am-12.00pm
  Location: Meeting Room 1, Research and Innovation Services, Falmer House

Each session will include six participants to facilitate meaningful discussion.

If you are interested in taking part, please complete this short expression of interest form by 5pm on Friday 21 February. We aim to ensure a balanced mix of disciplines and career stages, so we will review all submissions and confirm participation by Friday 28 February.
