Get ready to embark on a mouthwatering journey through international cuisines as Sussex Uni Food brings student-inspired dishes to life!

Our catering partners have recently rolled out an exciting food takeover competition, inviting students to propose dishes from their home countries and challenging our chefs to prepare them.

The competition aimed to celebrate diversity and showcase international cuisine within the Sussex community, giving our students the chance to bring a piece of their home to campus.

Selecting the winning recipes

Out of 19 tempting ideas submitted by students from around the world, via an online form, our cooking crew faced the challenging task of choosing just three recipes. The winning dishes – Ćevapi from Croatia, Jollof Rice from Nigeria, and Feijoada from Brazil – are set to grace Bramber House lawns throughout May.

Each dish at these pop-up lunches will only cost £3 and will be named after the student who submitted the recipe. And that's not all – winners will get a free meal for themselves and their friends on the big day!

Mark your calendars and get ready to tantalize your taste buds at Bramber House lawns where every dish tells a story!

• Join us on Thursday 16 or Friday 17 May for Nigerian Jollof Rice – a savoury dish infused with vegetables and meat alongside a medley of seasonings.
  
  
• On Thursday 23 or Friday 24 May for Croatian Ćevapi – Balkan minced sausages packed with aromatic spices, served with flatbread and salad.
  
  
• On Thursday 30 or Friday 31 May for Feijoada – indulge in a delicious black bean stew straight from Brazil!
