Sounding Spaces, Technologies and Each Other
An evening of performances and sharing of practice-based research from the Music department.
Featuring performances by improvisation ensemble MADE; songs from Junior Electronics; new work ‘Emptiplate’ by Furrowed; hybrid live coding from MNISTREL; and no-input pedalboard duo, Noise Peddler, alongside screenings of audiovisual work from Ed Hughes, Tim Hopkins and Nimzo Studio. The event will present work that explores core research threads in Music at Sussex including feedback systems, performance technologies, sounding objects, live coding, pop music performance and songwriting, space/place, and improvisation.
A collaboration across members of staff within the Music department with performances screenings of work from: Danny Bright, Evelyn Ficarra, Mimi Haddon, Alice Eldridge, Lee Westwood, Dylan Beattie, Joe Watson, Tim Hopkins, Nick Till and Francisco Bernardo.
