Sussex Awards now open – nominate your fellow researchers and staff who support you

Our new Sussex Awards programme recognises the brilliant work of our professional services and academic staff and you, our postgraduate researchers, across a range of award categories.
We‘ve brought together the Education, Research Culture and Research Impact Awards and added new categories, giving us more opportunities to celebrate the breadth of work taking place across our Faculties and Divisions.
There are 15 broad categories covering research and innovation, education and students, global and civic engagement, and other areas, providing opportunities to nominate colleagues across the many various roles in our community.
The awards have been combined and extended to make them more inclusive for all Sussex staff, including professional services in Schools and Divisions, responding to feedback on previous awards programmes.
How to nominate
PGRs can nominate individuals or groups of staff in most of the categories. It won’t take long and you can nominate multiple times for different people, but please don’t enter the same nomination in different categories – choose the most relevant.
If you’re working towards a Spirit of Sussex Award you can also log five points for making your nomination. Log points in the ‘Co-creation and Evaluation’ category under the question: ‘Have you provided voluntary formal feedback on academic or professional matters on a one-off basis?’.
Nominations close at midnight on Sunday 16 March 2025.
Judging panels will review all the nominations, and shortlisted nominees will be invited to an awards ceremony at the Attenborough Centre on Tuesday 6 May 2025, where the winners will be revealed. Nominees will be informed of their nomination, but not who nominated them.
