Get involved in the Brighton Marathon Weekend next April, by registering for the Brighton Marathon, the BM10K, or the BM Ride cycle event.
Whether you are a walker wanting to complete the 10km course; a novice runner or cyclist; or a seasoned athlete, you will find all the help you need in our support package:
- A training programme tailored to your level
- Extra training advice and support from Sussex Sport
- A fundraising guide to help you meet your target
- Team Sussex supporters cheering you on during the event
- Access to our tent in Charity Village, where you can meet your family and friends – and a free massage after your event*
Please note that due to the cancellation of the 2020 event, individual places for next year’s weekend will be very limited.
We do currently have places available for all of the events, however, so if you want to take part with family or friends then make sure you all secure your charity place with us to avoid disappointment.
Visit our marathon page today to find out more and register your interest.
Supporting mental health research
Registering for one of our charity places will also give you the opportunity to support our research into mental health.
Prior to the pandemic, we were already facing a mental health crisis. Roughly one in four people in the UK were experiencing a mental health problem every year.
It is too early to say what the long-term effects of social isolation policies will be. What we do know, however, is that we need research into how best to protect our mental wellbeing now more than ever.
With your help, Sussex can work to address this issue through our world-leading research.
For example, Universities UK listed Professor Gordon Harold’s work – which looks at children’s mental health – as one of the UK’s 100 best breakthroughs of the past century for its significant impact on people’s everyday lives. Your support will enable more of this type of ground-breaking research to take place.
