Celebrating Sussex Women working in technology

Women in Tech Week is a nationwide celebration of women working in technology. From 7-11 October there will be a series of free online and in-person events across the UK focussing on career development, networking and driving forward quality and innovation across the tech sector.
To celebrate Women in Tech Week, we’ve put together some case studies highlighting the work of just some of our fantastic Sussex female colleagues working in technology-based roles.

Women in Tech Week coincides with
Ada Lovelace day which is an annual event held on the second Tuesday of October to honour the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It is named after mathematician and computer science pioneer
Ada Lovelace.
Women in Tech Week is organised by
WeAreTechWomen, which was set up in 2015 to help women working in technology develop their skills and reach their full potential.
WeAreTechWomen sum up their purpose as follows:
- To contribute to an increase in women working in technology industry
- To raise the profile of women working in the industry through their own awards
- Upskill women working in tech through their events and conferences
- Provide access to resources that will enhance the careers of women working in tech through opportunities, networks, learning and volunteering.
