Our catering partners have been engaging with students and staff in Eat Central to share the plans for the café’s refurbishment ahead of its temporary closure on Monday, 25 March.
A flythrough video of the new look being shown during lunchtime caught the attention of a number of diners on Tuesday, 5 March, with many praising its “Shelter Hall, food-court vibes”. There was a positive response from students in particular to the improvements to seating as well as the range of international food options.
Students were also particularly encouraged that the £2 meal will be provided throughout the closure in a food van parked on Bramber lawns; the outside seating will remain in place during the café’s closure.
There will be further opportunities to chat to our catering partners in Eat Central about the changes between noon and 2pm on Wednesday 13 March and Thursday 21 March.
You can watch the video here, and it will be shared on the University’s social media channels in the coming weeks.
And look out for the hoardings that will be covering the outside of Eat Central while the work is going on, including several nods to our feathered friends the seagulls!
